Are You One of The 99%+ of Society Living Your Life On Walkabout?

Most people find this short video somewhat shocking... However, it is a bit of a depth charge! What I mean by that is it may take a while for this message to sink in. So over the next few days if you feel like it, you may wish to consider the question… are you on walkabout? Or is anyone you know on walkabout?

The secret to progress in life is to first recognise where we are. If we do not know that, then there is no way we can plot a course from where we are to where we want to go. Everyone looks for just where they want to go, but the lack of success the vast majority of the world has, demonstrates that this method is not the right way.

The closer you learn to look at yourself, then the easier it becomes to fix the seemingly impossible.

    Hello Andy,

just watched the short Walkabout video. when I saw the title I giggled as I am Australian. when I watched it I realised that while I believe I have a goal, that it may not be clear enough to achieve and that most of my statements for my ideal future contain the words “going to”, ‘working to’, and “want to” all of which will keep me going to, working to and wanting to…..!!! I am in the walkabout!

thanks for opening my eyes and my mind!
    Kind regards, Eliana

If I clear my muddy mind can I still go on walkabout? Sometimes I like to drift without knowing what I will be doing next!

    1. Andy Shaw says:

      Hi Marysa,

You bet you can, the walkabout is a lot more rewarding too.

      Best wishes,

      Andy

    Hi Andy,
Yeah, I’m on a walkabout, I don’t have a destination and thus far the journey has given me exactly what I have expected…more wanting rather than desiring. Through listening to you the past few weeks and through reading your book, (I’m on chapter 13) I am having a heck of a time just observing myself and my feelings about my thoughts. I chose to rephrase my thoughts and I have noticed a subtle shift in everyday life. I am an avid reader of many instructors and although the message is similar, your delivery is very different. Thank you. I think of you often and am grateful to you for allowing me an opportunity to desire a different outcome. Cheers I look forward to hearing from you.
    Thanks, Angie

Being on walkabout or not being on walkabout is beside the point. They both are neutral & just are. Its not being aware of where you are that causes the problem. In other words, if I’m unaware that I’m heading west while all the while saying I “want’ to go east, I will continue to head west.

Yes I’m on a walkabout. Don’t know how to get out of it.

    1. Andy Shaw says:

      Hi Renee,

The first step is to refuse to continue to live that way. When you have done that, and I mean done it. Then sink into this material and decide you will find the way out of it.

      Best wishes,

      Andy

  6. Allen says:

So true Andy – many thanks for making me more aware of how to avoid a walkabout and how to define what I desire and feel I already have.

  7. Leon says:

It is absolutely SAD and SHOCKING to realize that we are just j-walking from one place to another, without really having a plan or at least a road map for our live. I now (in that moment) realize why all successful and rich people have a list of goals and set plans for their lives. Without goals and landmarks of success your brain is so lost, that it can hardly understand where to go and what to do.
All he does (the brain) Eat, drink, sleep, repeat – eat drink sleep repeat and so on.
