Do you remember
what it was like to think like a child?

~ Your mindset guarantees your success or failure in all you do ~ Andy Shaw

Do you remember what it was like when you were a child?… If you stop and think for a few moments during reading this, then you will remember it…

It was a time before thought… We just lived…

When we were children we spent our entire lives living in the moment. Yesterday was never in our thoughts, and tomorrow only on the odd occasion when an adult told us what was coming.

We as children just lived our lives 100% in the moment…

We were at perfect peace, and in harmony with the moment and life. We were full to the brim with life.

Over the years adults very quickly begun encouraging us to grow up, as if living as we were was something to be let go of as soon as possible because the next thing ‘adulthood’ would be so much better…

As uneducated lambs we were led to the slaughter and found that adulthood contained all manner of things that we were supposed to enjoy more than living in the present moment and loving life…

We also found many other ‘rewards’ waiting for us like a lack of contentment, no fulfilment, anger, frustration, doubt, worry, fear and depression… All those and many more were there waiting for the children to grow into… We didn’t all get all of them… A few escaped most.

But… These ailments are so common place that they are considered normal parts of being an adult…

When you slow down enough to think about it, then you must see that an adult encouraging a child to grow up into this man-made world of pain and disharmony is one of the most horrible things we can do for our children.

Most children then go onto a life of unfulfilled dreams and ambitions, whilst living a pretty painful experience of life… They will tell you that things are ‘not so bad’… But secretly are suppressing some real pain and disappointment.

Some decide that living this way is not good and so look for solutions… A few find solace in meditation… Most find their hobbies to be the only real freedom from their existence…

Unfortunately the promise of adulthood being something much better than childhood was a lie told by unconscious adults who have not yet realised that their lives were not as good as when they were children… If they had realised then they would surely not want their children to grow up.

But a tiny number of adults work out that the way they thought as a child is better than the way they think as an adult, and so they look for a way back to thinking again like a child…

happy-woman-2They seek to learn how to live in the present moment again.

The ones who make it then manage to have the best lives possible as adults… Because their time expands again like it did as children and the years seem to get longer not shorter as they become ever more present and aware.

Meaning the most conscious adults seek to think again as we naturally thought as children…

If pain and disharmony are present in your life then all you need to do is learn to think again how you once naturally spent every moment of your life… As all the pain and disharmony is created by the man-made way we have been brought up to think…

When you learn to let go of that way of thinking, then the real you will emerge again.

As you go about your life over the next few days I suggest you start to look for the benefits and costs for you in the way you currently think…

stressed-losing-it-2If you are angry, then what’s the benefit or cost for you in thinking that way?

If you are stressed, what’s the benefit or cost?… If you are frustrated, what’s the benefit or cost?…

You get what I mean… Whatever state of mind you are in, slowly start to consider the benefit or cost… Because nothing stands still and each thought either helps you or harms you…

As children we all thought just things that benefitted us… As adults we must relearn this natural ability as we have unconsciously allowed it to be taken away from us…

Learning to look for costs and benefits will gradually allow you to raise your level of consciousness, and in doing so you will find a lot of life’s ailments start to slip away.

This little pattern interrupt is just one simple thinking structure, if you’d like to learn more and see just how far you can raise your level of consciousness then I suggest you check out my system for structured thinking.

Best wishes,

Andy
